Happy New Year

Winter holidays always end too soon and all the festivities make it hard to find a few days to relax. I did end up with a few quiet days to paint and be lazy so I made sure that I enjoyed them thoroughly. Now I'm back to teaching and I am definitely feeling the pain. Sometimes I think taking a week or two off isn't worth it when you know you will have to endure the pain of getting back in shape!

I'm not really big on new years resolutions but I do try and spend sometime every year reviewing the past months and making goals for the future. Making more art and practicing more has been a consistent goal the past few years. Last year I was busier with dance so I did not complete as many large paintings as I would have liked. This year I have an extra art day in my week so I should be able to accomplish a little bit more. Last summer I started using acrylics again and I am excited to continue with this medium to further develop my style.

Yesterday I completed this little pointe shoe painting. It is 5" by 7" acrylic on canvas. I played with a lot of different colours for this one and am pleased with how it turned out! It is for sale in my Etsy shop with all my other available paintings!
